.Mac Sections
This category contains a list of the different sections
of the .Mac Web site that you might
typically visit including:
* Send iCards
* Open Address Book
* Open Webmail
* Open Webmail Directly (see Note)
(alternate to Open Webmail, available by holding down the Option key)
* Edit HomePage
* Visit HomePage
(alternate to Edit HomePage, available by holding down the Option key)
* View Account Details
* Edit Webmail Preferences
(alternate to View Account Details, available by holding down the Option key)
* Open .Mac Bookmarks
* Visit Learning Center
(alternate to Open .Mac Bookmarks, available by holding down the Option key)
When clicked these items will open a .Mac login page where you will need to log in. dotMac Menu does not automatically log in to the .Mac Web site. The page will load in your default browser, such as Safari (browsers typically contain a default browser preference.)
Tip: Have Safari (or
your choice of browser) remember your account name and password
for the .Mac Web site when
prompted and then you can use Auto-Fill (with it enabled)
to remove repetitive typing and make this process only a
couple of clicks!
|
Tip: "Visit HomePage" will not work if
there is not a .Mac account
present for the current user.
|
Note: The purpose of "Open Webmail Directly" is for users behind a firewall that may block the normal Webmail address, but not the actual page itself. This does not provide any additional functionality for normal users, only a viable option for users behind firewalls.
