Preferences Explained

Below is a list of Preferences, organized by tab, as they appear in the Preferences window.

General

  •  Check for Updates at Launch* - automatically checks for a network connection and for the latest version of DriveGauge
  •  Retrieve iUpdates at Launch* - automatically checks for a network connection and opens and retrieves the latest iUpdate as well as any archive information

Advanced

  •  Growl usage warnings - displays a notification for each selected drive on how much space is used
    • Warn at and above - this popup allows you to choose a preset level for Growl or "Other..." which allows you to set a custom level (do not include the % sign, only a numerical value)
  •  "Open Growl Preferences" - this button automatically launches System Preferences and selects the Growl preference pane
  • Automatically update gauges - adds a login item for the current user and runs a background utility to automatically update selected gauges at a customizable interval
    • Update every - this allows you to enter a number for how often to update (and the time can be set to every X minutes or hours using the popup to the right)

Uninstall

  •  "Remove All DriveGauge-Related Files" - performs the uninstall actions as detailed in Uninstalling DriveGauge
  •  "Include Growl for Removal" - tells DG to include all Growl installed items when an uninstall is performed
  •  "Files to be Removed " - shows a sheet listing all files that will be removed by the uninstall (lists Growl if the preference is checked)

Tip: Preferences don't take effect until the "Apply" button! (within the Preferences window)

Tip: You must check the Growl removal checkbox before uninstalling.

* - indicates this only takes effect the next time DriveGauge is launched, not during the current session.
