Options Drawer Explained

The Options Drawer contains a variety of options to change the appearance of gauges on a per drive basis. Visible above the Options Drawer in the figure below is the Authenticate button (which indicates its state with a lock/unlock icon) and the button which shows and hides the Options Drawer [this option is also available from the Window menu's Toggle Options Drawer menu item]. All options are changed in real-time and are visible in the Preview window for the selected drive.

DriveGauge's Options Drawer with the Style Selector, Effects, and Backup sections

Style Selector

This pane contains a simplified version of the GaugeStyle Manager.

  • Preview - contains a preview of the currently selected style.
  • Back/Forward arrows - buttons to cycle through the available styles.
  • Title - the name of the style.
  • Author - the name of the style's designer.
  • Description - a short description of the style's design.

Effects

This pane contains a number of different effects to change a gauge.

  • Rotate - this circular slider rotates a gauge 360 degrees
  • Nudge vertical/horizontal - these two sliders move a gauge's location vertically or horizontally
  • Reset Effects - this button sets all effects back to their defaults for the current drive
Tip: the Rotate slider includes 'snap' points at each cardinal point to allow for easy positioning.

Backup

This pane allows you to set when backups are created by DriveGauge.

  • During manual apply - this popup sets what happens when DriveGauge manually applies gauges (when clicking the Apply button)
  • During auto-updating - this popup sets what happens when DriveGauge's automatic update engine applies gauges
