DG & Growl

Growl is an open-source notifications project that allows you to completely customize its appearance and functionality. This incredible project has different styles that you can change, resizable windows, the ability to 'stick' notifications and much much more!

DriveGauge uses Growl to alert you when a selected drive has reached a certain percent. If automatic updating is enabled DriveGauge will look at each selected drive and its percent used and if it is at or above your current warning level it will then display a Growl notification (by default, this is a blue bubble-like window in the upper right corner.) There are many preset levels or you can enter your own using the "Other..." option in the warning level popup. DG will also display Growl notifications when you quit the application, informing you of the status of your drives once its work is complete.

DriveGauge notifications show the drive's current icon, it's name, and displays "% used, % remaining" as well. The notifications are 'sticky', which means they will stay onscreen until clicked on, at which point they fade away. This allows you the time needed to check the information without being rushed.

Information about Growl, as well as new display plugins and updates, is available from their Web site at www.growl.info. We are contributing members of the project and look forward to its continued growth and success!

Tip: Easily access Growl preferences with a click from DG's Preferences.
