Renaming an Item... Compare Folders includes an Item Action that displays a sheet allowing you to rename an item. This sheet displays the current name of the item as well as the full name of the item in parentheses below it (typically this is composed of the folders containing the item, the name of the item and its extension.) Beneath this is the New Name text field where you type the new name of the item. There are three buttons below this, from left to right: a contextual Help button, a Cancel button to stop the renaming operation and return to viewing results, or Rename, which begins the renaming process. When "Rename" is pressed Compare Folders will attempt to rename the item. If there is a problem Compare Folders will alert you and give you another opportunity to provide a new name instead. Compare Folders will update the item accordingly once finished and inform you of its success. This feature is available from the Rename menu item under the Actions menu or via contextual menu. You can change an item's extension from the Item Inspector.
