Frequently Asked Questions:

Frequently Asked Questions With Answers:

  1. Why did Compare Folders suddenly stop working?
  2. Answer: The demo period for Compare Folders is nine (9) tries, or comparisons, with CF being fully functional and without limitations during this period. After the demo tries have been used up a license must be purchased to be able to compare any folders.

  3. How is Compare Folders' performance?

Answer: Compare Folders is a multi-threaded application designed to churn through whatever folders and files you throw at it. Comparisons with over 100,000 items in the results have been run, taking about 700 MB of RAM to do so over the course of 15 minutes. We continue to fine tune performance and enhance the capabilities of our difference engine.

  4. Only one user is registered on my computer. What gives?

Answer: Compare Folders stores its registration information in your Home directory to make sure you always have your license handy on your machine, even in the event that you may completely reinstall your OS, since users will take their Home directory (or a backup of it) with them. CF will allow multiple licenses to be installed in each independent Home directory, provided you have the correct registration information, so don't lose that e-mail!
