Choosing Folders...

Compare Folders needs two folders to go to work comparing folders and generating its results. The easiest way to select a folder is to click on either the Folder One or Folder Two icons in any of the results tabs, which will show an Open... sheet allowing you to choose your folder quickly and easily, starting from your Home directory or the currently selected folder if there is one. There are corresponding "Choose Folder One..." and "Choose Folder Two..." menu items under the File menu and in the icons' contextual menus.

You can also drag and drop a folder onto the Folder One or Folder Two icons in any of the Results tabs (the cursor will change to the + to indicate its copying the folder's location for you) and once dropped it's set, in the traditional and intuitive Mac style. You can also drag and drop folders onto either the application icon or the Dock icon and Compare Folders will set the folders appropriately and auto-compare if needed.

Compare Folders 1.2 and higher include a Recent Folders menu that lists the last 10 folders selected for comparison and when clicked they will be set appropriately. The Clear Menu item will remove all entries in the menu until the next folder is selected.

Tip: Compare Folders includes a preference to 'auto-compare', which will automatically open the comparison selector sheet once the second folder is selected and a compare can be performed.
