Uploading an Item and .Mac

Compare Folders includes support for Apple's exceptional .Mac service and its online storage, the always accessible iDisk. Preferences are included that allow you to either use the account set in the .Mac preferences pane of System Preferences or to enter an account and password that will be used during the current launch only, Compare Folders will not store a user's password at any time, this is handled by Apple's system to ensure security and flexibility.

To upload an item make sure that .Mac integration is enabled and a valid account is entered. Select an item and use the Upload to iDisk toolbar item or the "Upload to iDisk " menu item under the Actions menu or via contextual menu to get started. An Open... sheet will appear allowing you to choose where on your iDisk you'd like to upload the item if you have your iDisk mounted or enabled local iDisk support and you can select a folder inside your iDisk. If neither is present then the iDisk Uploads window will display a list of the available folders typical to all iDisks (Documents, Public, etc.) and allows you to choose which from there.

The iDisk Uploads window will open and the item listed there. If automatic uploading is enabled then it will start uploading, otherwise the "Start" button next to the status text in the iDisk Uploads window will upload the first item in the list. An upload can be removed by selecting it and clicking the X button in its row. The progress and amount transferred will be indicated directly in the item's entry as it uploads.
