iNexus : Products : iNexus Application Features

Every Infinite Nexus application we ship includes a standard repertoire of features that makes it uniquely iNexus and easier to use. These include:

  • Network verification - Thanks to code from Evan Schoenberg, each time an Internet-enabled action is used, the application will make sure you are connected and let you know otherwise with increased accuracy and ease. (version: 2.0)
  • Check for Updates - every application can check to see whether a new version is available via the Check For Updates item under the application menu, which is powered by the well-known SparklePlus update framework.
  • E-mail & web links - every application includes menu items that link to the application's Web site, to it's blog category, and also to send feedback if you prefer to compose your own email instead of using the iNexus Feedback mechanism. (version: 1.2)
  • iNexus Feedback - we value input from our users and include an easy to use window in each application that allows you to submit bug and crash reports, feature requests, or any other thoughts. You can choose to receive a copy of the submission, whether or not we reply, and what email account to send from [integrated with Apple's Mail client currently.] (version: 1.3)
  • iNexus Uninstall - although we hope to create applications you want to keep on your computer and use every day, we realize that you might want to remove them, so we provide an easy to use solution. With a single click we'll start the process of removing the application, support files, and optionally your preferences, without opening additional installers, scripts, or other arcane methods. You can also easily view a list of files that are going to be removed with a single click. Could it be any easier? (version: 2.2)
  • Preferences - although this seems like a feature any app should have, we make sure our applications follow a standard design to allow maximum familiarity and flexibility. You can check for updates at launch and most applications also have several other options in their General pane as well as other application-specific panes. (version: 2.0)
  • iNexus Validator - although it is unfortunate, not all applications can be freeware and for those offerings that are shareware, we have the iNexus Validator, a lightweight method to insure your investment is protected from anyone stealing your license or your favorite application! (version: 1.0.1)
  • iNexus Register - for those same shareware apps we want to make it easy to purchase and add a license without making you jump through hoops, page after page of boring legalese, shopping carts and more. Thus iNexus Register integrates to provide seamless registration when you decide an application is worth your investment. Once you've registered all the little reminders will remove themselves from view, allowing you to enjoy your purchase. (version: 1.5)
  • iNexus Standards - any application we develop that has a document you saved (be it a library, a photo, text, whatever) that uses a proprietary format internally (to make it faster, easier to use, etc.) will always have a standards-compatible export or save option so that you'll never be left in a situation where support may not be available and you need your data. Typically these will employ formats like folders, XML files, text (like .txt or .rtf), or images (like .jpg, .tiff, .gif, .pdf). Every application and format will be tailored to utilize this style of development and security for the integrity and longevity of your information. (version: in development, per application basis)

While they may not always receive the glory, the little details are sometimes those that make the most difference and we are constantly striving to enhance this list and make every application we produce benefit from what we've learned and the feedback you give us. As Apple stated all those years ago, "Think Different."
