Launch
DriveGauge and it will automatically build and then update a Drive
List containing a list of all your currently mounted drives and
relevant information about them. It only requires a click on the
drive's icon in the Finder to see its updated look. A quick and
painless way to keep tabs on your drives!
Style & Substance
DriveGauge includes many elegant features that allow you maximum customizability and flexibility when you want to know what's going on with your hard drives.
From a Console window to Growl notifications to the clear and concise Drive List, there are many ways to absorb the needed information in just a glance.
GaugeStyles allow you to choose how you'd like
each drive to look, giving each a unique style and feel when you
want to keep track of drive usage.
Information at your fingertips
What makes this even more useful is that the
information visible with the gauge is available system-wide: in
the Dock, save/open sheets ,
and of course the Finder. It's even present in the Installer when
you choose your destination volume.
Turn on Growl notifications
and let DriveGauge inform you when you're about to run out of space.
DriveGauge 3 features a brand new automatic update engine that
runs silently in the background and allows you to be notified
via Growl when
your drive(s) are more than a certain percentage used. You can
also set when it updates, be it once every 5 minutes or every
24 hours.
DriveGauge icons are compatible with
OS 9.x and Classic. No more generic little gray HD icons
for you, a custom gauge and hard drive are just a click away...
bring a touch of X to 9!
How does it work?
DriveGauge
is built as a visual interpretation of the UNIX df command*
(for the curious just open a Terminal window and type df and
hit Return) The original inspiration came from an article at Liquid.org (an
HCI site that unfortunately is no longer up)
