A great opportunity
I wanted to take a minute to announce a tremendous opportunity that’s occurred in my life and explain how it will affect Infinite Nexus. I’ve recently accepted a position at Apple as a Mac OS X Desktop Software Engineer, working on Apple Remote Desktop (which, if you have more than one computer, is a great piece of software!) Over the next few weeks I’ll be moving out to Cupertino and settling into my new environs.
What does this actually mean for Infinite Nexus? Not a terrible lot - I’m not going to shut it down and I’ve been given the green light to continue my current endeavors in my spare time. This does not mean that any product from Infinite Nexus is in any way endorsed, affiliated with or supported by Apple (they aren’t), and I can’t stress that enough. Practically speaking I won’t have near the time I have had in the past few months to devote to iNexus projects, but they will certainly continue. In that spirit each one has a status update below.
Compare Folders 3.0 is under active development, with prior posts detailing some of the finished and under consideration features. Highlights include drastic performance enhancements (and other engine tweaks), archiving support, live results filtering, FilePeek, and much more!
DriveGauge 4.0 is also under active development. This is an entirely new shareware application bringing forward the concept of disk usage visualization in a very friendly and enticing offering. More details will be posted in the future.
dotMac Menu 3.0 is in the design and research phase. There’s a lot of possibility in this release, but it’s also the likely version in which dMM becomes shareware. Some ideas so far: .Mac Sync support, .Mac unread email information. This project won’t receive focus until much later in the year so don’t get too excited yet, just know it’s definitely there
