Addicted to the Web(site)
Sunday, May 20th, 2007I’ve enjoyed working on the website, having done so primarily with Dreamweaver back in the day and hand-tweaking with SubEthaEdit as needed after the layout was done. Of course I uploaded it all to the server using Transmit. When blogs started taking off I started this one using Wordpress and MarsEdit.
But I’ve done it as an “oh yah” not an “oooh yaaaah!” step in working on Infinite Nexus. MarsEdit has been great fun and I’ve wanted to blog sometimes just as an excuse to use this well-done program. Website work hasn’t had that moment though - it’s been a necessary step that I’ve had to do.
Until Friday morning when I downloaded Coda 1.0.2. If you missed the debut of this fantastic app, crawl out from under your rock (I know, they can be comfortable
) and download ASAP. Panic, in usual fashion, has created an application that oozes productivity while being packed to the brim with tasteful highlights and little features that you never knew you wanted but always had a need for.
The best parts for me are that it combines the power of my favorite text editor (SEE) with the power of my favorite FTP client (Transmit), wrapped in a powerful web editing environment. Steven has the most thorough summary out there so I’ll let him give you the full deal.
Keep an eye on the site, you’ll be seeing lots of changes small and large afoot now.
