Code: At Attention!

Friday, August 25th, 2006

Any programmer worth their salt knows that they’ll never be done improving themselves, their skillsets, and what hangs off their belts. While I’ve been (relatively) satisfied with the progress of Infinite Nexus’ projects there could always be [more] forward progress.

.Mac & Compare Folders

Thursday, August 10th, 2006

Compare Folders has had integrated support for iDisk since the DotMacKit first became available to developers. Over the past few months I’ve been in contact with a great Apple representative for .Mac who was organizing a new page listing applications for Mac OS X that support .Mac integration in some form. Naturally CF was a candidate and the necessary information passed back and forth.

Recently the results of that endeavor were posted and (although I’m a bit biased) I think it looks great! Be sure to check out: http://www.mac.com/1/sdknewfeatures.html. In addition to this, the .Mac team updated their blog with a post about this new section and one of the top icons in their image was none other than everyone’s favorite folder utility - Compare Folders! (last one on the right of the first row to be exact)

Universality!

Saturday, August 5th, 2006

It’s been a long while since I’ve posted any updates to the blog and I thought I’d take a moment to highlight what’s coming in the next week or so.

As the title of this post implies, Universal Binaries are a large focus. dotMac Menu 2.7 is ready to go and the only pieces left are marketing and web site revisions as well as continued installer package testing. Compare Folders 2.5, in beta over the past several months, will be coming out of beta soon with it’s release - also a Universal Binary. In addition, there’s been tons of bug fixes, revisions, and the occasional refinement or feature.

I could blather on about everything but I’d rather get ‘em both wrapped up and in the hands of their loyal users :) [though if time allows I’ll try to post previews of what’s changed in each app’s category, stay tuned]
