Posting from a new home

Saturday, May 13th, 2006

This entry is being typed and posted from my new 17″ MacBook Pro. Why do I share? (besides the obvious geek factor) This means a solid focus on Intel compatibility for all Infinite Nexus apps as well as a much-needed boost in performance.

For tangible numbers I give you an Adium (an open source project I work on) compile - on my 1.33 PBG4 w/ 1 GB RAM a clean build took roughly 20 minutes. Today I updated to the latest source and compiled (on a 2.16 MBP w/ 2 GB RAM) in roughly 8 minutes. That’s snappy!

So I’m definitely geeked (read: beyond excited) as I settle into the spacious new surroundings and get ready for simultaneous coding on each machine (PPC and Intel.)
